Global Diversity exists to support the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of society, our aims are promotion of civic responsibility, good citizenship, advancing education and personal development and promoting life-long learning and the development of the individual capabilities, skills and understanding in subjects of educational value.
Over the last couple of years Global Diversity has become a trusted place for any segment of the community and a reliable partner for the public sector, business community and professional intermediaries, our facilities include:
- Global Diversity Café offering a full range of freshly made cakes, meals, snacks, sandwiches, paninis etc., specialising in vegan and vegetarian range. Global Diversity Café has been supported by professionals and businesses who use the space for meetings and lunches so that proceeds can be used to help the most deprived and homeless
- Community meeting area for public services to host workshops, drop-in provision and 121 sessions for their service users
- Room hire facilities to run business meetings, product launches
- Training room where we run employability workshops, digital skills training, health and well-being programmes and the space is also available for hire to organisations who want to run meetings, training or workshops
- Multi-media recording and production studio, providing a service for creativity throughout Yorkshire and Humberside. Offering a Full Recording and Mastering Studio, Video and Photography editing Lab.

Global Diversity Appoints New Centre Manager
Curtis Young the newly appointed Centre Manager is from the local community with a deep understanding of local issues and the challenges faced. He has taken over from Satvir Meen who was one of the founder members who has now gone onto pursue her teaching career. Curtis can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org
Global Diversity are launching a new range of digital programmes. According to the Government’s Digital Inclusion Strategy report, 21 per cent of Britain’s population lack the basic digital skills that are needed to experience the full benefits of the web.
‘I wanted to start the decade by offering a free two week rolling programme Digital Skills Course, foundation course for the unemployed’, said Curtis, ‘not only will participants learn digital skills such as email, using the internet, IT communication fundamentals, but they will also learn how to build a CV, create and write a cover letter, learn interview techniques, effective time management, complete online job applications, utilise social media, how to be safe and secure online, and the course is a NCFE Level 1 Employability Skills, NCFE Level 1 Personal & Social Development tailored for IT and they will receive a free lap top on completion of the course’.

You are invited to take advantage of this monthly networking event at Global Diversity Hub, events will take place on the second Thursday of every month with the first one commencing on
Thursday 13th February 2020 By bringing people together at Global Diversity Hub, we hope to channel the energy and expertise of RSA Fellows to engage with their charitable objectives:
- Creating employment opportunities
- Promoting health and wellbeing
- Improving the attainment of disadvantaged communities – developing a culture of lifelong learning
- Encouraging social responsibility
- Promoting and recognising arts in the community
You’ll have an opportunity to meet local Fellows and the RSA North team, find out more about Global Diversity and the RSA, and explore how you might get involved.
Also find out how to apply for the RSA Catalyst Grant which is available to Fellow-led projects that align with the RSA’s key themes, and offers help to utilise the expertise within the Fellowship to make a project a success. The Grant aims to catalyse ideas into scalable projects of innovative social change, to make long-term impact.

Free Business Networking Event organised by the Federation of Small Business (FSB) Kirklees and Calderdale and Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA) 23rd January 2020 17:00 – 19:00

In addition to finding out more about the FSB and YABA it will help you attract more business and enable you to develop stronger business relationships in a structured and supportive business environment. As well as having the opportunity to network with other local businesses, YABA & FSB representatives will be on hand to talk to you about ensuring you get the most from your membership and of course time to mingle and circulate with your promotional literature and those all-important business cards!
Accelerator Programme designed to support the growth of social enterprises, community groups and third sector organisations
“Social enterprise is said to offer possibilities for social engagement and economic inclusion to different social groups, providing novel solutions to a range of societal problems that the state and private sector have been unable to solve.” In partnership with Global Enterprise Links (GEL), Kirklees Council have launched a programme designed to specifically to support social enterprises, community groups and third sector organisations. The project will include a flexible, blended, practical based approach designed to give participants a fantastic opportunity to take their organisations forward. The components of the programme will include one to one sessions with an experienced business and third sector coach, behind the scenes visits to successful businesses and third sector organisations, workshops on relevant topics such as access to Finance, digital transformation and understanding data visualization, developing leadership culture, management capability, empowering teams and workforce development and marketing, customer experiences, social media marketing.
